A Letter From Jake

Over the last several months, I've found myself working on a smattering of different projects.

I finished an oil painting on vellum in May of Tolkien and Lewis (the original sold while it was still on my easel – not a bad way to paint!); creating smaller versions of the family crest I spent two years carving via a fascinating print process using the 3D scans we took of the carving; Hannah and I are creating a necklace inspired by the family crest as a private commission for the family; we're collaborating on a coffee table style book of the crest that shares the process of the creation of this mammoth commission that I've dedicated nearly four years of my life to now. Many fallout projects from the Crest to be sure! I finished a small marble letter sculpture for my son and I'm in the beginning stages of my next major piece.

Hannah and I continue to build our fine jewelry company where we design wearable artworks together; a venture of ours since 2018.  We're a re-hauling the brand as much of the summer months have been working with new manufacturers to create the quality our pieces are known for. Right now you can get up to 40% off select designs as we make room for more beauty to come in the autumn.

A few weeks back I finished the recording of my audiobook for my upcoming book that will release Sept. 1! Don't worry, you'll be among the very first to hear about since your'e already subscribed to the right place here in your inbox. I'm excited to be able to share this project after a year and a half in the making. I wrote most of the book between carving the family crest and hospital visits for our eldest daughter who was diagnosed with a rare disease this time last year. This book was quite literally squeezed out of me and it's the most vulnerable, truthful writing I've ever done.

Thank you for being here. I know the world is loud and there's a lot of online noise. I pray these letters from my studio are a quiet part of your day infused with inspiration and encouragement for a life beautifully created.

I hope this finds you flourishing,

Jake
